Playing out of the Washington D.C. area, the Washington Redskins are members of the Eastern Division of the National Football Conference in the National Football League. The Redskins are the second most valuable franchise in the NFL, second only to the Cowboys. Founded in 1932, the Redskins have won five NFL Championships and three of the five Super Bowls in which they have played. Also of note, The Redskins are one of only two teams in the NFL with an official marching band making their half time show quite spectacular.

In 2008, the Redskins looked to return to the playoffs but were unable to make it partially due to the retirement of head coach Joe Gibbs. Replaced by Jim Zorn, the team switched to a west coast offence, and finished out the season in the middle of the pack.
