For the last 18 seasons Head Coach Mack Brown has taken his college football team to a Bowl game. From 1992 to 1997 with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and every year Brown has coached the Texas Longhorns team since he arrived in 1998.

Mack Brown is an instrumental part in developing young football players as his camp at the University of Texas invites players between 4th grade and 12th grade to learn from his staff and participate in Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium for a week of fun. The Longhorns have facilities that are regarded as the best in the country. Aside from the Mack Brown Longhorn Football Camp, UT also hosts the Mack Brown & Jeff Madden Speed and Explosive Power Camp.

College coaches use camps as a form of income for their respective Universities and to try to find a diamond in the rough among the visiting athletic talent. If a player has the ability to wear the burnt orange and white found on a Longhorns uniform, he will be one of the most admired athletes in all of college football. The fans of Texas look for their Horns to be winners and Texas High School football produces many winners.

Earl Campbell, Ricky Williams, Vince Young and Colt McCoy are some of the most highly decorated players to ever were Longhorn colors. Campbell and Williams won the Heisman Trophy.

Fans are very much appreciated at Texas Memorial Stadium as awards are given to the top tailgaters at home games. The H-E-B tailgater of the game takes home great prizes including having a photo posted on the Longhorn website, recognition on the scoreboard and a shopping spree. Horns fans are valuable to the University of Texas and the Longhorn staff recognizes this.

The 2009 version of the Texas Longhorns had high expectations and met them playing Alabama in the BCS National Championship Game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Both teams entered the game with perfect 13-0 records. Bama was in control with QB Colt McCoy suffering an injury. A halftime lead of 24 to 6 turned into a closer game in the second half but Longhorns fans saw a disappointing final score of 37 to 21 with the Crimson Tide on top. ABC sports covered the game and former Ohio State Buckeye QB Kirk Herbstreit was the color commentator. McCoy had beaten the Buckeyes the year before in the last seconds of the game in the Fiesta Bowl.

This is Brown's 13th season as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns in 2010. His mark of 13-1 last year landed him Coach of the Year honors in the Big 12. Brown has the best winning percentage (.826) of any coach in UT history and an overall record of 128-27.

Sophomore QB Garrett Gilbert will look to bounce back from a less than stellar BCS performance to lead the Longhorns in 2010.

Longhorns Stadium will miss Quarterback Colt McCoy who will no longer be featured on the Longhorns roster. The Longhorns football team had 45 wins under the direction of McCoy which makes him the winningest quarterback by far in the history of the Longhorns.

A Longhorn ticket is one of the most sought after in all of college football. A Longhorns game will be as exciting as it has ever been in the fall and winter of 2010.

The Sooners of Oklahoma and Texas A & M are the two biggest rivalries of UT. The Longhorns football team have October 2nd and November 25th circled on their calendar.

The Longhorns schedule kicks off on September 4 as Texas plays Rice.

Mack Brown’s Longhorns are expecting a sold out crowd for the opener. Chants of Hook em Horns and the singing of Texas Fight will be heard throughout the stadium.
