A pair of 16 year veterans will hope to guide the Los Angeles Lakers back to an NBA Championship in 2012-13. The Lakers acquired Steve Nash from the Phoenix Suns in the off season. Nash will look to compliment Kobe Bryant, who has spent his entire career in a Lakers uniform. Nash, who averages 42.3% from the three point line, will eclipse 17,000 points and 10,000 assists this season. Bryant, who shoots a mere 33.6% from three point land, has nearly 5,500 assists but should cross the 30,000 point mark this season.
A third player figures highly into the Lakers future success but is slowly recovering from a back surgery in April. Dwight Howard, the second "Superman" to wear purple and gold, will miss the first part of the preseason according to reports. He should be ready by the regular season and combined with Nash, Bryant and the rest of LA Lakers should put the team in legitimate contention for a 17th NBA title.
The Los Angeles Lakers are still a very proud franchise that has won 16 NBA titles, second only to the Boston Celtics. Team owner Jerry Buss is still very committed to his Lakers success as evident by the signing of Nash and Howard. As long as Kobe is a member of the Lakers, the team will continue to be an attractive and competitive team.

2. Lakers Head Physical Therapist Dr. Judy Seto accompanied Kobe Bryant to the 2008 and 2012 Olympics. She is known to be a miracle worker in keeping the players healthy in LA. When teammate Pau Gasol discovered Dr. Seto was at the 2008 games, he asked Bryant why he did not tell him. Bryant quickly replied, "You play for Spain".
