The 2009-2010 season marks the 64th in New York Knickerbockers' history. Mike D'Antoni is in his second year and is hoping to improve on last year's 32-50 record and provide a Knicks fix! Coach D'Antoni is in the process of rebuilding after taking over for Isiah Thomas, who had a rocky stint with the Knicks.

D'Antoni has a solid young front court to build on with David Lee, Wilson Chandler, and Danilo Gallinari as well as veteran Al Harrington on the Knicks roster. Lee is a consistent double double guy and currently has the highest career field goal percentage in Knicks history. The 21 year old Gallinari has shown 3 point range drawing comparisons to another foreign sensation Dirk Nowitzki.  The backcourt appears to be the area of weakness for New York, where neither Larry Hughes nor Chris Duhon has been consistent at creating offense or scoring. Nate Robinson has shown some flashes, but has to get on the same page with Coach D'Antoni.

The Knicks franchise is hopeful that they can restore the pride brought to the city by Walt Frazier, Willis Reed, Earl Monroe, Bill Bradley, and most recently Patrick Ewing.  Ewing was a Knicks fan favorite and is New York’s career leader in points, rebounds, games, steals, and blocks. Knicks rumors still exist that say LeBron James will show up on the Knicks roster for the 2010-2011 season.
