The 2011 New York Giants season is the 87th season for the team in the National Football League. It is the team's 2nd season in New Meadowlands Stadium. The Giants expect to return to the playoffs after a two year absence despite their 10-6 season.

They will play teams from the NFC West and AFC East as per the schedule rotation, as well as their regular games with their NFC East rivals. The Giants will also play the Green Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints. Notably, this season will feature the first rematch between the Giants and the New England Patriots, whom the Giants defeated in Super Bowl XLII, ending the Patriots' bid for a perfect season. Tom Coughlin returns for his eighth season as Giants head coach. Additionally Perry Fewell, the Giants first year defensive coordinator will return after interviewing for head coaching positions with the Browns, Panthers, Broncos and Titans.

In the first week of the offseason the Giants signed some road free agents and former members of their 2010 practice squad to reserve/future contracts in order to bolster the roster for the 2011 season. In early March the team signed potential free agents to contract extensions: on March 2 the team signed running back D.J. Ware to a two-year extension and on March 3 they signed wide receivers Domenik Hixon and Darius Reynaud to one and two-year extensions, respectively. They also offered tenders to some of their restricted free agents but the effectiveness of these tenders rely on the ongoing CBA talks.

The Giants are hungry to return to the playoffs and get a shot at another Superbowl.
