Known affectionately as the Kardiac Kids through the 70s and 80s, the Cleveland Browns have had one of the most loyal followings in football history despite their colorful record. Started in 1946 as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference, the Browns had early successes, but remain to this day one of five teams that has yet to qualify for the Super Bowl.

After 1985, the Browns, lead by quarterback Bernie Kosar had a near brutal rivalry with the Denver Broncos, sending fans into a frenzy during the now famous 1987 AFC Championship game. In the 90s, the Browns were moved to Baltimore much to the dismay of the Browns fans who had begun to be referred to as the Dawg Pound after a particular section of seating they inhabited. Over 100 lawsuits were filed, and Congress held hearings to settle the matter. True to their name, the Dawg Pound became unruly, going so far as to set fire to the seats during the Browns final game in Cleveland showing their displeasure with the move.

In 1999, the Browns returned to Cleveland where they belong under the ownership of Al Learner. In 2006, a study determined that the Browns Fans are the most loyal fans in the NFL. Starting for this 2009 season, the Browns made three early trades, overhauling their wide receivers. Picking up California center Alex Mack to replace starter Hank Fraley, the Browns look to be in good shape for the upcoming season.
