The 2010 Big Ten Mens Basketball Tournament is located at Conseco Field House in Indianapolis, Indiana. Conseco Fieldhouse is home of the Indiana Pacers of the NBA. The Big 10 Tournament begins on March 11 and ends on March 14 this season.

Eleven Big Ten teams are seeded and play in a single elimination format to determine the champion. A total of ten games will be played. The number one seed and number two seed both receive a bye and will not have to play the first day of the event. The Champion of the Big Ten Tournament will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament which begins March Madness.

The tournament is in it's 12th year and has also been held in Chicago. Conseco Fieldhouse will be home to the Tournament for at least two more years after 2010. Games this year will be broadcast on ESPN, CBS and The Big Ten Network.

The eleven teams in the Big Ten are Ohio State, Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Penn State, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State. Penn State was the last team to join the conference but the name was not changed even though there are no longer just ten teams.
